“Change is the sacred rhythm of existence, the one
truth we can trust. Even our most difficult moments
carry the seeds of renewal and growth.” Julie Schmidt
Tapping to Relieve Resistance to Change
Set Up Statement: (tapping on the side of the hand)
Even though I’m so resistant to change, I’m acknowledging how I feel and allowing the energy to move. Whatever part of me that’s holding on, consciously or unconsciously, for whatever reason, I now choose to be open and receptive to new possibilities. I love and accept myself and all of my feelings.
Reminder Statements: (tapping around on the body points)
All this resistance, all this resistance, really feeling it in my body. Wonder what is holding me back? All this resistance to change. Part of me doesn’t want to go forward. All this resistance and anxiety. Honoring how I ‘m feeling and allowing the energy to move.
Pause & Check In: (deep breath, eyes closed)
Take a moment to notice your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations. Has the intensity stayed the same, increased or decreased? Might there be more clarity?
Continue tapping around on the body points until you feel relief and the intensity comes down quite a bit. Then tap with releasing statements, alternating on the points.
Releasing Round:
Any remaining resistance, that I’m feeling in my body, it’s time to relax and let go. It’s safe to relax just a little bit. Releasing the past. This remaining resistance, it’s safe to relax and let go. Releasing the resistance in every cell of my body. Opening to greater ease, comfort and willingness to move forward.
Keep breathing gently and notice how you are feeling. Complete your practice with Gratitude tapping.
Gratitude Tapping: (tapping around on the body points)
I am so grateful for this practice. Grateful for the healing, for the clarity, for the willingness to move forward. Taking my time. I’m so grateful for my strong, flexible, healthy body. For my home, family and friends. Thanking all my parts for protecting me. I’m so grateful for all of the blessings in my life.
Close your eyes again for a few peaceful moments and allow the gratitude to fill your being, bringing in more and more good. Remember that you can practice a few minutes of Gratitude tapping at any time throughout your day. Yay!
